HR has revised Background and Reference Release form
There are three main changes to the form:
1. Three new checkboxes have been added to the form: position type, prior state service and driver's license check needed.
2. The form now only requires the approval of the search chair/hiring manager for nonteaching positions.
3. Federal regulations for background checks require that certain documentation be given to candidates at the time they complete the background request form. The form now includes a multiple page handout to be given to the applicant. The form can be printed double-sided to conserve paper.
Search chairs should begin using the new form immediately regardless of the type of search they are conducting. Search chairs should complete the entire department section box before sending it to HR for processing. Incomplete forms will result in delayed processing time.
