Reminders, deadlines and events

* International Education invites all departments and offices on campus to a brown bag information session from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, in 266 RSC to learn more about what our office is doing. Representatives will be available to talk about our efforts in recruitment, admissions, immigration compliance, study abroad and programs on campus. Feel free to come with questions (and your lunch) to find out everything you've wanted to know about our office.

* The Office of Human Resources (HR) has revised the Background and Reference Release form. This fillable PDF is a required part of the hiring process and the candidate information should be filled out by candidates when they arrive for face-to-face interviews. * The Office of Research Compliance will hold an open lab from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, in 215 Devlin Hall Innovation Hub. Faculty, staff and students needing assistance in determining potential export or import controls affecting responsibilities and activities at WSU should plan to attend. Open labs are held the third Wednesday of every month.

* Nominations are being accepted for the President's Award for Distinguished Service for Unclassified Professionals. The nomination form and instructions can be found under the featured links on the Unclassified Professional Senate website at http://www.wichita.edu/upsenate. Nominations are due by noon Friday, Jan. 29.

* The WSU School of Performing Arts production of "Smokey Joe's Cafe" has been selected to perform at the Regional Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Minneapolis, Minnesota, this month. Join us for a benefit performance of "Smokey Joe's Cafe" to raise the money needed for travel expenses at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, in Wilner Auditorium. Tickets are $25. * To help students with registration, fee payment and financial aid questions, the Office of the Registrar, Office of Financial Aid and Accounts Receivable will offer extended hours from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 13) through Thursday, Jan. 14, and Tuesday through Thursday, Jan. 19-21. Visit our staff in Jardine Hall for assistance.

* Duplication Station staff will train on new printing equipment and software during the next several weeks. As a result, the service window will be closed each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. now through Monday, Feb. 1. Please plan accordingly.
