Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast

* Correction: You are invited to the First Generation Welcome Mixer from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, in the Santa Fe Room (233 RSC). The welcome mixer gives faculty and staff an opportunity to meet and welcome back first-generation students on campus. Free light refreshments will be served. * The Counseling and Testing Center is offering a free Mental Health First Aid course to help individuals better identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health issues in others on Friday, Jan. 29. To register, go to myWSU and myTraining. More spring 2016 dates for this workshop are also available. Admission is free and a light breakfast and afternoon snacks will be provided. * The next Spring 2016 Chemistry Department Colloquium will be presented by Kevin Kubarych, University of Michigan, at 3:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 27) in 224 McKinley Hall. * Nominations are being accepted for the President's Award for Distinguished Service for Unclassified Professionals.
