Reminders, deadlines and events
* WSU Cybersecurity Association (CsA) is a newly created WSU student organization, designed to engage WSU students and faculty on the topics of computer and information security and privacy. CsA is organizing a biweekly seminar series and the first lecture will be held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. today (Friday, Feb. 5) in 127 Jabara Hall.
* Join Engineers Without Borders (EWB) to learn how you can contribute to our upcoming projects in Uganda through EWB from 6-7 p.m. today (Friday, Feb. 5) in 211 Engineering Building.
* Expand your worldview and join the Keep Girls Safe student group for the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, on the RSC north lawn. There will be pizza and a balloon release in honor of survivors.
* Come cheer for your favorite team as the Carolina Panthers take on the Denver Broncos at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7. Come to Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes in the RSC and enjoy specials all day long. There will be contests and prize drawings, too.
* Jump into the tech industry with a program designed to teach students how to code and create for the Web. This spring semester, Ennovar at WSU is offering a software development training workshop starting Tuesday, Feb. 9. * University Libraries is hosting a workshop, "Finding Reliable Resources," for students from noon-1 p.m. today (Friday, Feb. 5) in 217 Ablah Library. * Many WSU staff and faculty invite you to the Entre Nous evening of film, French hors d'oeuvres and selected wines. This fundraising event of Wichita Area Sister Cities will be open to the public at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, in the CAC Theater. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for veterans and students with ID, and $6 for children under 12.
* Mortar Board Senior Honor Society is accepting applications for new members. If you are a junior who values scholarship, leadership and service, go to http://webs.wichita.edu/?u=mortarboard and click on Prospective Member Info to complete your application online. You must have had 90-plus credits by the end of the spring 2015 semester and a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26.
