A recent story on KMUW 89.1 featured a study released last month by Wichita State University. The study found that Kansas' sales tax pushes shoppers across state and county lines in order to save money on food. Kansas is one of only 14 states that includes groceries in the state sales tax. Arwiphawee Srithongrung, an associate professor from the Hugo Wall School of Public Affairs at WSU, authored the study, which uses data from 2012 and 2013.
