WSU student researchers to present at Undergraduate Research Day in Topeka

Research studies ranging from corrosion of biodegradable metals to sources of information about women's health are among the topics that will be presented this week by Wichita State University undergraduate students from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, on the first floor of the rotunda at the Kansas Capitol in Topeka.

Four WSU students will share their findings with legislators, the Kansas Board of Regents and other attendees. Students from other Kansas Board of Regents institutions and Washburn University will also participate.

"WSU students engage in quality research that will benefit the state of Kansas and represent to our legislators the value of applied scholarship in undergraduate education," said Cohen Honors College Dean, Kimberly Engber, who will travel with the students to Topeka.

WSU undergraduate students presenting at the event, with their majors and respective faculty mentors in parenthesis, are: Emily Dee (psychology, sociology, anthropology -- Kathleen Perez); Jessica Gayle (biomedical engineering -- Anil Mahapatro); Logan Gisick (psychology -- Evan Palmer); Anna Wray (psychology -- Kyrah Steward-Brown).
