Reminders, deadlines and events

* The Gender Diversity Training scheduled for today (Tuesday, March 1) has been canceled. The next training will be held from 2:30-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, in 266 RSC. The goal is to clarify the understanding of issues related to gender minority/transgender people. Sign up for this training at http://wichita.edu/transgender. * The baseball team will host the University of Nebraska-Omaha at 3 p.m. today (Tuesday, March 1) at Eck Stadium. For tickets, call 978-FANS (3267).

* The WSU School of Music is proud to host its annual Madrigal Invitational at 7:30 p.m. today (Tuesday, March 1) and Thursday, March 3. Each evening will feature high school madrigal groups from across the state of Kansas performing individually. The concerts will also include songs by the WSU Madrigal Singers. Admission is free.

* "Developing Engaged Students -- Tips and Tricks from Student Involvement" is the title of a Faculty Development Workshop from 2-3 p.m. Thursday, March 3, in 262 RSC. Join us for a session that will explore student engagement as a vital aspect of teaching and learning. To RSVP for this workshop, sign in to myWSU and sign up for the session under myTrainings.

* The University Bookstore is taking orders for faculty and staff who need regalia for the spring 2016 Commencement. If you plan on purchasing regalia, CB Grad will be in the bookstore from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, March 10, to measure and take orders. The deadline for purchased custom regalia through the bookstore is 4 p.m. Friday, March 11. The deadline for rented regalia is 4 p.m. Friday, March 25. Call Julie at 978-7021 or email her at bookstore@wichita.edu to place your order or if you have any questions. You may also come by the bookstore between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Payment is due when you place your order. Orders placed after the deadline will incur additional shipping and handling charges.

* President Bardo and the President's Office are starting a new campaign called Shocker Spotlight to highlight WSU students who have gone above and beyond to show their Shocker spirit in innovation, the community, globally, etc. Nominate a student by going to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4621 and fill out the information and provide a photo of the nominee. A new Shocker Spotlight will be showcased every week on President Bardo's Twitter and Facebook pages. Each week, a student in Shocker Spotlight will receive a gift from President Bardo and the President's Office.
