Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast
* A movie night will be held at 5 p.m. today (Friday, March 4) in the main lobby of Shocker Hall. The movie will be in Russian with English subtitles. We will also answer questions about Russian classes that will be offered this fall.
* The women's basketball team will host Indiana State at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Charles Koch Arena. For tickets, call 978-FANS (3267).
* President Bardo and the President's Office are starting a new campaign called Shocker Spotlight to highlight WSU students who have gone above and beyond to show their Shocker spirit in innovation, the community, globally, etc. Nominate a student by going to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4621 and fill out the information and provide a photo of the nominee. A new Shocker Spotlight will be showcased every week on President Bardo's Twitter and Facebook pages. Each week, a student in Shocker Spotlight will receive a gift from President Bardo and the President's Office.
* The Office of Diversity and Inclusion is seeking outstanding individuals to serve as Peer Mentors for the Multicultural Student Mentoring Program. These students play a major role in the transition of new underrepresented students. Peer Mentors must be at least a sophomore with a 2.75 GPA. Please encourage students to apply to be a Peer Mentor for fall 2016. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, March 23. The link to apply is http://www.wichita.edu/mentor.app

* All department heads and Emergency Building Coordinators (EBCs) are asked to go to the EBC website at http://webs.wichita.edu/?u=ebc&p=/ebc_list/ to review the list of coordinators. If you have not received training or had a refresher class within the last two years, sign up for the class. Go to myTraining, and under Browse myTraining, click on the first or second option to locate the EBC training on Wednesday, March 9, and click on Request for the session you are able to attend. Communicate any changes to the list of EBCs to shelly.kellogg@wichita.edu.
* The University Bookstore is taking orders for faculty and staff who need regalia for the spring 2016 Commencement. If you plan on purchasing regalia, CB Grad will be in the bookstore from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, March 10, to measure and take orders. The deadline for purchased custom regalia through the bookstore is 4 p.m. Friday, March 11. The deadline for rented regalia is 4 p.m. Friday, March 25. Call Julie at 978-7021 or email her at bookstore@wichita.edu to place your order or if you have any questions. You may also come by the bookstore between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Payment is due when you place your order. Orders placed after the deadline will incur additional shipping and handling charges.
