Shocker Sound, our Basketball Pep Band, voluntarily played for a recent Deployment Ceremony. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4631 to see photos and video from coverage by The Wichita Eagle. Shocker Sound was asked to play prior to the event and also perform ceremonial music and play the army song as the ceremony came to a close. Afterwards, Brigadier General Bruce Hackett, who spoke, asked to meet the band and thanked them for playing. The students said they enjoyed the experience and would like to do more things like this for the community in the future.
