Reminders, deadlines and events

* Do you have an opinion about a potential WSU football team? Take the WSU SGA Football survey at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4628 or log in to Orgsync and access the survey through the portal.

* Join the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers for their weekly meeting at 3:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 2) in 257 RSC. We will talk about our future company tour, salsa night and the regional conference. You don't have to be Hispanic, an engineering major or professional; everyone is welcome.

* The women's basketball team will host Illinois State at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Charles Koch Arena. Students with a WSU ID can get in free starting one hour before women's home games.

* The WSU School of Music is proud to host its annual Madrigal Invitational at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3. The evening will feature high school madrigal groups from across the state of Kansas performing individually. The concert will also include songs by the WSU Madrigal Singers. Admission is free.

* WSU doctoral student Karissa Marble-Flint is looking for 4-, 5- and 6-year-old children to participate in a research project. You and your child have the opportunity to answer the question, "Is the iPad helpful for young children with autism when used for shared storybook reading?" The time commitment is 25 minutes for session one and 60 minutes for session two. Please note: children must have normal vision and hearing. All families will receive a gift card for participating. * Show off your inner Shocker spirit and produce a video about why you love Wichita State. Rules and regulations can be found at http://www.wichita.edu/SAC, and submissions are due by 5 p.m. Friday, March 4, 216 RSC. Voting will take place throughout March and the winner will be announced at the movie on Thursday, March 31. * Join Community Service Board from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, for the next Senior Saturday, a series of volunteer sessions at Regent Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare. Join us in hanging out, playing games and sharing conversation with senior citizens in your community. To RSVP for this event, register at wichita.edu/CSBvolunteer

* President Bardo and the President's Office have started a new campaign called Shocker Spotlight to highlight WSU students who have gone above and beyond to show their Shocker spirit in innovation, the community, globally, etc. Nominate a student at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4621 and fill out the information and provide a photo of the nominee. A new Shocker Spotlight will be showcased weekly on President Bardo's Twitter and Facebook pages. Each week, a student in Shocker Spotlight will receive a gift from President Bardo and the President's Office.

* The University Bookstore will be your one-stop Shocker shop while you are at the Missouri Valley Conference basketball tournament in St. Louis. The bookstore will be set up in the ballroom at the Westin Hotel, with brand new Shocker merchandise to cheer on the best team in style. They will be open three hours prior to each Shocker game and from 4-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 4-5. Thursday afternoon/evening hours are dependent upon arrival.
