First-class postage to drop two cents on April 10

Absent Congressional or court action to extend or make permanent existing exigent surcharge for mailing produces and services -- including the Forever stamp -- the Postal Service will be required to reduce certain prices on Sunday, April 10. The surcharge removal means these First-Class Mail prices will be adjusted to the following:

- Letters (1 oz.) from 49 to 47 cents
- Letters additional ounces from 22 to 21 cents
- Letters to all international destinations from $1.20 to $1.15
- Postcards from 35 to 34 cents

Commercial prices will also decrease. A complete listing of the new prices, effective April 10, is available at http://www.usps.com
