Statement from Vice President Eric Sexton on Student Affairs reorganization

From my conversations with students and staff, I have reached some conclusions about realigning responsibilities to enhance the services we provide to students and flatten the reporting relationships in the Student Affairs organization.

I am making these changes consistent with our strategic goal to "empower students to create a campus culture and experience that meets their changing needs."

- Dr. Maureen Dasey-Morales will occupy a new position, Assistant Vice President for Wellness, overseeing Campus Recreation, Student Health Services and Counseling and Testing Services.

- Christine Schneikart-Luebbe will become Associate Vice President/Dean of Student Life, overseeing Student Involvement, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Child Development Center. She will also become advisor to the Student Government Association.

- The Director of Housing and Residence Life, Scott Jensen, and his department will begin reporting directly to me.

I'm confident these changes will provide for more streamlined decision making and enhance the abilities of these departments to meet student needs.
