Reminders, deadlines and events

* Doctorate and specialist students who are graduating in the Spring 2016 Commencement, should contact the University Bookstore to order regalia. Stop by the Bookstore, call 978-7021 or email bookstore@wichita.edu to find out about your options. Deadline for purchase orders is 4 p.m. today (Friday, March 11) and the deadline for rental orders is 4 p.m. Friday, March 25. Payment is due at the time you place your order. Orders placed after the deadline will incur additional shipping and handling charges.

* Join Engineers Without Borders (EWB)-USA Wichita State chapter for a meeting at 6 p.m. today (Friday, March 11) in 211 Engineering Building. Join us to learn how you can contribute to our upcoming projects in Uganda through EWB. You don't have to be an engineer to have an impact.

* WSU's School of Performing Arts presents a Second Stage production of "Core of Temptation," a play written by Danielle Hartman, a student from Virginia Commonwealth University. The play will be performed at 7:30 p.m. today (Friday, March 11) and Saturday, March 12, and 2 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, March 12-13, at Welsbacher Theater in Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Free admission for students with a WSU ID.

* It might be spring break next week, but our Shocker Fit classes continue. Check out our new schedule and stop by the Heskett Center to join. All classes are free for WSU students.

* Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes in the RSC is offering a $20 pass for unlimited play during spring break. Each pass covers unlimited bowling and billiards from Monday, March 14, through Sunday, March 20. Some restrictions apply. Visit us for details.

* A doctoral student of audiology is seeking participants for her research project, which will test the reflexes in the ear. Participants will receive a free hearing evaluation prior to testing. Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 35, cannot have had an ear infection in the past three months, nor had a cold or flu in the past two weeks. * The deadline to turn in a WSU Dames Endowed Scholarship application for the 2016-17 academic year is Sunday, May 1. Applications are available online at http://www.wichita.edu/wsuwomen. The scholarships are awarded annually to students enrolled full or part time at WSU who have financial need. No recipient will be excluded from consideration on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, marital status, political affiliation, status as a veteran, genetic information or disability. However, first consideration will be given to nontraditional, female candidates.

* Join SAC from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 26, for the Shocker Paint Party. Learn how to paint a WSU-themed painting at Paint the Towne (8037 E. Peachtree Lane). Limited spots are available and may be purchased online at http://www.wichita.edu/sac, under forms and registrations. The cost is $5 for students, faculty and staff with a WSU ID or $10 for the general public.

* Student Government Association and the Campus Issues Committee invites international students to fill out a survey at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4639 to discuss any issues or concerns you have in relation to your academic and student life on campus.
