Over the weekend, the Shocker men and women won their sectional qualifier and advance as one of the top 16 teams to the Intercollegiate Team Championships Wednesday-Saturday, April 20-23, at Northrock Lanes in Wichita.

The women started off slow, but took the lead soon after and never looked back, winning with a 500-pin margin.

The Shocker men led most of the tournament and their final margin of victory was more than 100 pins.

On Friday, three players qualified for the Intercollegiate Singles Championships. Senior AJ Chapman won the sectional, and senior Stephen Cowland finished fourth, each of them qualifying for the national tournament. Freshman Estafania Cobo finished third and also qualified for the national tournament.

Singles will take place on Tuesday, April 19, at Northrock Lanes. Way to go, Shockers!
