Free Lunch & Learn with Dawn Shaikh from Google

The WSU Foundation and the WSU Department of Psychology-Human Factors is hosting a free lunch and learn session from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, April 11, in 233 RSC, with Dawn Shaikh, Google senior UX manager and WSU Shocker. Her presentation is titled, "Are you feeling lucky? How to make your own luck!"

Shaikh, senior user experience manager at Google, is currently leading research across the Communications group at Google and leading design for Google's consumer and enterprise Hangouts efforts. She was previously the head of UX for Google Cloud Platform where she managed design, research and prototyping for Google's external cloud-based developer tools.

Shaikh took Google Cloud Platform from several disparate offerings to one unified platform designed to meet developers in their daily workflows. During her 8.5 years at Google, she has worked on AdWords, Internationalization, Google Fonts and Google Apps for Enterprise. She also spent one year as an Engineering Ambassador in Bangalore, India, where she focused on SMB enterprise needs.

Shaikh received a master's in psychology and a Ph.D. in human factors psychology from Wichita State University in 2005 and 2007, respectively.
