Library Associates to feature program on 'The Face Value of Slavery'

Gerald Norwood will present "The Face Value of Slavery: Reflecting Its Economic Impact in Paper Currency" from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, outside special collections in the lower level of Ablah Library. Admission to the program, sponsored by WSU's Library Associates, is free. Norwood will discuss the importance of slavery to the U.S. economy through little known slave images displayedon southern states' paper currency. Norwood is a WSU alumnus and a recognized expert on and collector of African-American historical documents and exhibits. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call 978-3586.
