Poetry reading at the Ulrich

Rick Mulkey will give a poetry reading at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the Ulrich Museum of Art. The reading is part of the Writing Now/Reading Now series, co-sponsored with the Department of English, Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College, Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Office of Academic Affairs, University Libraries, and Watermark Books and Cafe. A reception will precede the reading at 5:30 p.m.

Mulkey is the author of five collections including "Ravenous: New & Selected Poems," "Toward Any Darkness" and "Before the Age of Reason."

His work has appeared in Crab Orchard Review, Georgia Review, Denver Quarterly, The Literary Review and Southern Poetry Review. Mulkey has taught at universities and writing workshops in the United States and Europe, and has been a fellow at Hawthornden in Edinburgh, Scotland.

A Wichita State University MFA poetry graduate, he is the former director of creative writing at WSU, and he currently directs the Low Residency MFA program at Converse College in South Carolina.
