Reminders, deadlines and events
* The Fiscal Year 2017 budget process begins at the departmental level with the entering of budget information into WSU's budget system (TM1) software. It is important that budget officers and budget review officers for state orgs (nonresearch orgs) attend one of the FY17 training sessions or the open lab session for individual help. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4717 for details.
* The University Support Staff Senate is taking donations for The Treehouse. This nonprofit organization offers mothers and babies a brighter future through sharing basic necessities, education and genuine personal care. Drop-off locations will be set up from Monday, April 11-Friday, April 15, at the RSC, Morrison Hall, Ahlberg Hall, Lindquist Hall, Devlin Hall, Garvey International Education and Woodman Alumni Center.
* Art lovers around the world join in Slow Art Day, an international movement to stop and savor special moments with their favorite works of art. Amble through the Ulrich Museum galleries at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, and spend time with art, then join fellow art lovers for conversation and refreshments. This is a great opportunity to see "Visual Justice: The Gordon Parks Photography Collection" at WSU one more time -- before the exhibition ends Sunday, April 10.
* The next Free Biometric Screening will be Monday and Tuesday, April 18-19, in 265 RSC. By attending a screening you will earn five HealthQuest credits to help you meet the required 30 points for the discount. The deadline to register is three days prior to the event date by midnight. To register, log in to http://www.kansashealthquest.com and look for the Bulletin Board at the bottom right of the screen, then click the "Screening Appointment" link. Walk-ins are welcome, but subject to availability. For more information, go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4713
* Participants aged 50 and older are needed to help the Software Usability Research Lab (SURL) investigate various reading techniques using a tablet computer. This study will take about 60 minutes to complete. Participants will be compensated with a $25-$30 item purchased from the WSU Bookstore. If you are interested in participating, complete the following short survey at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4711 or copy the following link to your browser -- http://goo.gl/forms/N85BELrDWu.
