* Join the Cultural Ambassador Program for their last session of the spring panel series from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. today (Thursday, April 7) in 264 RSC. This week's panel is open for you to ask what you've always wanted to know about other countries.
* Interested in hiring veterans here on campus? The Veterans Preference class helps search committees understand and use the vets preference policy, how to decipher certain military documents and how local veterans can fit into the WSU workforce. This class will also show how vets preference is incorporated into the new search process. Go to myTraining to sign up for the next available class at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 14, in 256.
* University Support Staff (USS) employees are encouraged to nominate peers for USS senate. Submit nominations for Wichita State USS senators now to Friday, April 8. All nominations are subject to approval by the nominee before being added to the final ballot for elections. To make a nomination, go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4700 and click on Senate Elections.
* The Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Student Success, TRIO Programs and the Tilford Commission are creating a database of first-generation faculty and staff members at Wichita State. If you were a first-generation college student, visit wichita.edu/first to submit your information. You will also receive a button to wear to show your pride. * Where's the best place to get pizza in Wichita? Best donut? The Sunflower, WSU's student-led newspaper, would like to know what students, faculty and staff consider to be the "Best of Wichita." * The Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program (McNair Scholars) is accepting nominations now to Monday, April 18, of outstanding undergraduate students from the university community for the 2016-17 academic year. The McNair Program has served low-income and first-generation college students since 1995, working to prepare them for the transition into graduate school.
