* The Fiscal Year 2017 budget process begins at the departmental level with the entering of budget information into WSU's budget system (TM1) software. It is important that budget officers and budget review officers for state orgs (nonresearch orgs) attend one of the FY17 training sessions or the open lab session for individual help today (Monday, April 25) to Friday, April 29. * Candidates for Director of Human Resources (HR) will be on campus today (Monday, April 25) through Thursday, April 28. Each candidate will present on an HR topic, which they are passionate about. Faculty and staff are welcome to attend these presentations. The first candidate, Judy Espinoza, will present from 10-10:30 a.m. today (Monday, April 25) in 142 RSC.

* The TRIO-Student Support Services project will host the 37th annual Student Recognition and Awards Ceremony to recognize the outstanding academic achievements of our first-generation, limited-income students from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Monday, April 25) in the RSC's Shirley Beggs Ballroom.

* Jerry Scholl and WSU's Impulse Percussion Group invite you to "Make AMERICAn Composers Great Again," at 7:30 p.m. today (Monday, April 25) in Miller Concert Hall. The concert will feature music from both iconic American composers Walter Mays (WSU's Distinguished Professor), Thomas Gauger and rising stars Mark Applebaum and Bajinder Sekhon. * The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is planning a week of events and activities to raise awareness about sexual assault on college campuses. * The Department of Sport Management is teaming up with the Kansas Children's Service League to promote awareness in the prevention of child abuse. Throughout the month of April there will be information tables at various locations on campus. There will be a showing of the documentary "Happy Valley," from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, in 265 RSC.

* The WSU campus and community are invited to attend a retirement reception in honor of Professor Jeri Carroll from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, in the Sudermann Room (Door C), Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Remarks will begin at 4 p.m. Enjoy light refreshments. Carroll is retiring from the College of Education, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, after 33 years. * Join the College of Education for an ED Talk, "What are You Waiting for? Call to action -- advocating for children," at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, in the Marcus Welcome Center. The talk will be presented by Christine Downey-Schmidt, former state senator and Kansas Board of Regents member.
