Watkins Visiting Professorship Lecture Series: Physics

Richard Gustafson, a member of the LIGO Gravity Wave detection equipment at the LIGO Hanford Observatory in Washington state, will make two presentations in the Watkins Visiting Professorship Lecture Series: Physics, on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 3-4. Gustafson will present a public talk, "Gravity, Neutron Stars and Black Holse: The Detection of Gravity Waves with the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory," at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, in 127 Jabara Hall. His scientific talk, "Gravity Wave Detection: The Event of September 14, 2015, and Progress With Advanced LIGO," will be presented at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, in 128 Jabara Hall.
