* A Celebration of Service will honor the public service contributions of Nancy McCarthy Snyder, director, Hugo Wall School of Public Affairs, from 4-6 p.m. today (Thursday, May 5) in 266 RSC.
* SGA will host a Town Hall with Provost and Senior Vice President Tony Vizzini, VP for Administration and Finance Mary Herrin, and VP for Student Affairs Eric Sexton regarding the recent budget cuts and how they will affect students, faculty and staff on campus. Join us at 12:30 p.m. today (Thursday, May 5) in 233 RSC to learn more about how these cuts may affect you.
* WSU seeks comments about the university in preparation for its periodic evaluation by its regional accrediting agency. The university will host a visit Oct. 10-11, 2016, with a team representing the Higher Learning Commission. Comments may be submitted on HLC's website at www.hlcommission.org/comment by Sept. 12. Comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of the institution or its academic programs. Comments must be in writing.
* Green Zone Training is now available for those faculty and staff members that would like to learn more about working with student veterans. Currently there are sessions scheduled at 2 p.m. Monday, May 9, and 10 a.m. Thursday, May 19. If you are interested in signing up for this training, go to myTraining on myWSU to register. * The final event of the Pre-Tenure Club this semester will feature David Perlmutter, dean of College of Media and Communication at Texas Tech University, at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, in 313 RSC. * University faculty awards will be presented during the spring general faculty meeting Friday, May 6, in the multipurpose room at Hughes Metropolitan Complex, Door N. There will be a reception at 2:30 p.m. The faculty awards ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. The general faculty meeting will begin immediately following the awards ceremony.
