KMUW wins Murrow Awards
The news team has been honored with Edward R. Murrow Awards for the following:
- Feature Reporting: "The Ongoing Relationship Between the WPD and the Homeless," by Abigail Wilson
- Investigative Reporting: "Searching for Zebra Mussels in Wellington Lake," by Deborah Shaar
- News Documentary: "The Pieces That Remain: Remembering the Wichita State Plane Crash," by Abigail Wilson
In addition to the Murrow awards, Wilson garnered a Gracie Award from The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation for "The Pieces That Remain," and KMUW has been recognized as Large Market Radio Station of the Year by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters for the last two years.
Debra Fraser, general manager of the station, says, "KMUW's commitment to Wichita news coverage is greater than ever. An incredible amount of time and talent went into these stories. It's a privilege to have that recognized with these wonderful Murrow Awards."
