Author Wil Haygood to speak at WSU on Wednesday, May 25

Wil Haygood, Guggenheim and National Endowment for the Humanities fellow and writer for the Washington Post, will give a free presentation at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, in Lowe Auditorium, Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Haygood is best known for his book, "The Butler -- A Witness to History," based on the life of longtime White House employee Eugene Allen. The book was later made into a movie. After his talk, participants will be able to bring or purchase books, and Haygood will be available to sign them.

The former Upward Bound student and graduate of Miami University in Ohio will have a discussion with TRIO and GEAR UP students in the early afternoon. Students will have an opportunity to have books signed.
