About 230 attendees were welcomed by WSU Foundation President Elizabeth King the evening of May 5 to the 2016 Fairmount Society Celebration at the Wichita Marriott. Sixteen new life members were honored for reaching the milestone of belonging to the Fairmount Society. There also were 39 annual members recognized. In addition, Donna and Bill Ard were presented the 2016 Fairmount Founders' Award and John Tomblin was acknowledged as the 2016 Board of Trustees' Award recipient.

Guests were entertained by members of the WSU School of Performing Arts who performed selections from the musical "Chicago."

Speakers included King; WSU President John Bardo; Marilyn Pauly, chair of the WSU Foundation Board of Directors; and Sheryl Wohlford, chair of the WSU Board of Trustees.
