Reminders, deadlines and events

* Under the Kansas Concealed Carry law effective July 1, 2017, concealed carry of handguns by those 21 and older will be allowed in public areas of all WSU buildings unless the public area has adequate security measures to ensure that no handguns are present. (Open carry of firearms will still be prohibited.) The President's Executive Team is seeking faculty and staff assistance in determining priority areas for adequate security measures. If you believe the physical location where you work on campus is a public area that should be considered, go to http://www.wichita.edu/weaponssurvey to complete a short survey.

* The baseball team will host Dallas Baptist at 6:30 p.m. today (Friday, May 20) and 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Eck Stadium. For tickets, call 978-FANS (3267).

* The KMUW-FM spring pledge drive runs through Saturday, May 21. Show your support for Wichita Public Radio and go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4784 to make an online pledge.

* This summer, the Counseling and Testing Center will lead the Body Talk Group. In this safe and supportive environment, you address body image worries and connect with others who share similar concerns. Learn how to develop a more positive body image and not engage in negative body image messages. The group will meet every Monday from 3-4 p.m. starting May 23, in 320 Grace Wilkie Hall. If you are interested in joining the group, contact the Counseling and Testing Center at 978-3440.

* The Office of Financial Aid invites all Academic Advisors to join us for our first Financial Aid Mini-Workshop for Academic Advisors from 8:30-10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, in 405 Jardine Hall. The workshop is designed to answer your questions and provide you beneficial insight in to financial aid processes and regulations. Please RSVP to donna.carter@wichita.edu.
