President John Bardo's message on state budget cuts affecting Wichita State University

Gov. Sam Brownback announced today (Wednesday, May 18) 2017 fiscal year cuts for Kansas Board of Regents institutions, including Wichita State. This will result in a reduction in state general funds of $2,846,788, or 3.8 percent below WSU's 2016 fiscal year funding.

These are difficult times in Kansas, but we remain committed to our mission serving as an essential educational, cultural and economic driver for Kansas and the greater public good.

We have an outstanding faculty and staff, and I'm confident they will continue to position the university to grow enrollment by delivering great educational, career and life value to students who choose Wichita State.
