Reminders, deadlines and events

* A water shutdown is scheduled for Lindquist Hall from 8 a.m.-noon today (Thursday, May 26) to accommodate the installation of new domestic water floor isolation valves. Water fountains, sinks and restroom facilities will be out of service on all floors of Lindquist Hall during this shutdown, but such services and facilities will be available in all buildings surrounding Lindquist Hall. Water service is expected to be restored to affected areas by noon.

* Young Shocker Professionals will have a brown bag lunch from noon-1 p.m. today (Thursday, May 26) at a table near Taco Bell in the RSC for the young or young at heart. There is no fee to join and no commitment. Email ysp@wichita.edu to be added to the mailing list and start receiving news about all of the great things we are doing together.

* After nearly 10 years with the WSU Center for Science and Mathematics Education, Robert Henry is retiring. Join us as we celebrate his contributions to the center at a reception from 4-6 p.m. today (Thursday, May 26) in 142 RSC.

* HR's latest edition of the Veterans Spotlight webpage is available for viewing. On this site we have two new veteran job seekers and WSU's Sarah Sell as a veteran success story. * Our new Long-Term Care (LTC) provider, ACSIA Partners, has extended its Open Enrollment opportunity to Tuesday, May 31. Genworth Life, the previous provider, will honor all current contracts, but will no longer accept new enrollees. * Want to learn how to become a lifeguard? Campus Recreation is offering lifeguard training sessions from Tuesday, May 31-Thursday, June 2. Participants must attend all sessions to become certified.
