The Office of Special Programs has won first place from the Kansas Professional Communicators for the Special Programs Magazine issue titled, "Ignite Freedom Through Education," in the category "Newsletters -- Nonprofit, Governmental or Educational." The magazine, produced in conjunction with National TRIO Day at WSU, has qualified for entry in the national competition. The magazine committee members include Larry Ramos, TRIO Talent Search; Alan Dsouza, Office of Special Programs; Wilma Moore-Black, Communication Upward Bound; Travis Feeney, Upward Bound/Wichita Prep; and Ashley Cervantes, McNair Scholars Program. The Special Program Magazine is published under the supervision of Deltha Q. Colvin, associate vice president for Student Affairs.
