Reminders, deadlines and events

* A Conceal Carry Policy Open Forum will be held from 9-11 a.m. today (Tuesday, May 31) in the CAC Theater. All WSU faculty and staff are welcome to attend this forum that is facilitated by the WSU General Counsel's Office and the WSU Police Department. The purpose of the forum is to engage faculty and staff in an open discussion of the extension of Kansas weapons policies to include university campuses, WSU Weapons Possession Policy and the impact of allowing weapons to be carried on campus.

* Under the Kansas Concealed Carry law effective July 1, 2017, concealed carry of handguns by those 21 and older will be allowed in public areas of all WSU buildings unless the public area has adequate security measures to ensure that no handguns are present. (Open carry of firearms will still be prohibited.) The President's Executive Team is seeking faculty and staff assistance in determining priority areas for adequate security measures. If you believe the physical location where you work on campus is a public area that should be considered, go to http://www.wichita.edu/weaponssurvey to complete a short survey.
