* Under the Kansas Concealed Carry law effective July 1, 2017, concealed carry of handguns by those 21 and older will be allowed in public areas of all WSU buildings unless the public area has adequate security measures to ensure that no handguns are present. (Open carry of firearms will still be prohibited.) The President's Executive Team is seeking faculty and staff assistance in determining priority areas for adequate security measures. If you believe the physical location where you work on campus is a public area that should be considered, go to http://www.wichita.edu/weaponssurvey to complete a short survey.

* WSU faculty and staff can register for the Summer Choir on the College of Fine Arts Institute webpage for $35. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4777 and type the word CHORUS (all caps) to get the reduced fee rate for this summer. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4766 for more information.

* Federal Work Study supervisors: If you plan to retain your federal work study student employees for the 2016-17 academic year, notify Karen Porter at karen.porter@wichita.edu by Friday, July 15. She will contacting you soon to update your student employee position descriptions for 2016-17. Remember to post Federal Work Study job openings with the WSU Career Development Center on Handshake at http://www.wichita.edu/careerdevelopment. Handshake enables students to search and apply for on-campus federal work study employment.

* Join us from noon-1 p.m. Friday, June 10, in 215 Devlin Hall for "Eat and Educate" with Human Resources and guest panelists from Compliance. This month's event will focus on hiring and compliance issues related to federal export control laws.

If you would like more than 20 copies, you will need to pick them up at the Marcus Welcome Center. Requests of under 20 will be sent through campus mail.
