* WSU has been accepted as a participating university in the "Voter Friendly Campus Designation," supported by NASPA and the Fair Elections Legal Network's Campus Vote Project." As part of these efforts, we invite those interested in hosting, collaborating and planning nonpartisan voter and election engagement programs and outreach efforts to join us at 2 p.m. today (Thursday, June 16) in 142 RSC, for a planning meeting for any interested students, faculty, staff, departments or organizations.

* The Office of Research will hold a workshop on "Developing Budgets: How to Avoid a Budget Battle before a Grant Goes Out," at 1 p.m. Friday, June 17, in 405 Jardine Hall. The workshop is intended to answer all your research budget questions. Register through myWSU using the myTraining channel. * The State Department of Health recently provided instructions to eligible employees who want to receive a printed copy of Open Enrollment information for the 2017 Plan Year. Here are some helpful step-by-step instructions:

* SPTE request forms for the first four-week summer courses are due to the Social Science Research Lab by today (Thursday, June 16). Mail the form to campus box 107 or hand carry it to 429 Lindquist Hall. If you need an SPTE request form, go to http://www.wichita.edu\sslab

* The Toubia family and restaurant company Latour Management are among the food entrepreneurs who transformed Wichita's dining scene. The remarkable restaurant legacy of the Toubia family is the subject of award-winning reporter Deborah Shaar's feature for the KMUW Entrepreneurship Series. * A grand opening for the new Food Truck Plaza is scheduled at 11 a.m. Monday, June 20, across the street from the National Institute for Aviation Research. WuShock will attend. INTRUST Bank will give away free Kona Ice (snow cones) at the opening of the WSU Food Truck Plaza in appreciation of students and staff for everything they do for our community. * Sign up for Study Abroad information sessions in June and July. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/studyabroad and click on the information tab. For those who plan to study abroad in spring 2017, attend an information session this summer.

* Participants 18-52 years old who use a smartphone are needed to participate in focus groups for the Software Usability Research Lab (SURL) this week (June 13-17). The study lasts about 60 minute, and participants will earn $100 in Google perks for their time. Questions can be directed to Amanda Smith at 978-3849 or amanda.smith@wichita.edu.
