Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast

* Start the summer Kicking the Butt and begin a tobacco free life. Learn ways to help you be successful during your quit attempts and healthy ways to prepare for quitting, as well as gain support from other members who are in the process of quitting. Group meetings are 11 a.m.-noon every Monday starting today (June 20) in 320 Grace Wilkie Hall. If you are interested in joining the group, contact the Counseling and Testing Center at 978-3440.

* Central Services is closed today (Monday, June 20) and Tuesday, June 21, for inventory. Duplication Station is open today (Monday, June 20) and will begin billing for fiscal year 2017.

* Cross-cultural leadership training facilitates the development of critical skills required for leadership in today's diverse work environment. Kennedy Musamali will present exciting tools you can use to interact and lead effectively in a culturally diverse work place from 2-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 22. Registration is available through myTraining.

* Green Zone Training is available for faculty and staff members who would like to learn more about working with student veterans. Sessions are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, and 2 p.m. Monday, July 11. If you are interested in signing up for this training, go to myTraining on myWSU to register. * WSU faculty and staff are encouraged to submit a proposal for a presentation or workshop to the Michael Tilford Conference on Diversity and Multiculturalism. The theme of the 2016 conference is "Cultivating Success: Why Belonging Matters," and will be held at Pittsburg State University on Oct. 24-25. Proposals are due by Wednesday, Aug. 10. * A change in the way your Surency Vision deductions are withheld will begin on your Friday, July 1, paycheck. Moving forward, all vision deductions will be taken on a full, monthly basis on the first paycheck of each month. Please note that rates will not change from what was previously communicated during 2015 Open Enrollment.

* The Office of Research holds monthly open labs for the Pivot funding opportunities database. The next lab is from 2:30-4 p.m. Thursday, June 23, in 409E Jardine Hall. Pivot allows faculty and staff to input their research interests and receive automatic notifications when funding opportunities matching their interests are available. Registration is not required.
