* Kennedy Musamali will give a presentation from 10-11:30 a.m. today (Thursday, July 7) in 142 RSC, on the importance of emotional and cultural intelligence when leading across cultures. A plan to grow your cross-cultural leadership skills will also be presented. What difficulties do you face interacting and leading a group of people from culturally diverse backgrounds? Bring your cross-cultural leadership challenge/dilemma to the session. To register for this training, go to myTraining on myWSU.

* There are two biometric screening events today (Thursday, July 7) and Friday, July 8, in 266 RSC. If you have not yet registered, go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4843. Please make an appointment or walk in, if needed. Benefits-eligible employees and spouses who are enrolled in the state employee health plan or who have waived coverage in the plan are eligible. The biometric screening event is worth five credits. Remember, to qualify for the HealthQuest discount you must have 30 credits and complete the Health Assessment. * Mileage, meals and incidental expense (M&IE) and lodging rates effective Jan. 1, 2016, remain unchanged.

* The Office of Disability Services is now permanently located in 203 Grace Wilkie Hall. This new space will allow us to provide services more effectively. An open house is tentatively planned for early August.

* SPTE request forms for the summer second four-week or eight-week courses are due to the Social Science Research Lab by Monday, July 11. You may mail the form to campus box 107 or hand carry it to 429 Lindquist Hall. If you need an SPTE request form, go to http://www.wichita.edu\sslab.

* Now is your chance to sign up to volunteer at Wu-Rah, formerly convocation. Join us for a fun and exciting event as we welcome new and returning students to campus for an event on Friday, Aug. 26. Assignments fill quickly, so sign up today. Volunteers will be accepted until Friday, Aug. 5. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4822 to sign up.

* Student Involvement will host the fourth annual Back-to-School Bash from 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, in the RSC courtyard. We need your help. We are looking for other departments to help co-sponsor an inflatable or midway game. Volunteers for the event are also needed. This is a staff-run event, allowing all students to participate. Helping out the night of the bash is a great way to interact with students and welcome them back to campus.
