Reminders, deadlines and events
* New and experienced Banner Schedule Builders and Department Chairs are invited to attend the upcoming Spring Schedule Building Training sessions today (Tuesday, July 12) and Wednesday, July 13. Sections 1 and 2 are required for new schedule builders; current builders are invited to attend one or both sessions as a refresher. Attendees learn to enter the course schedule and view information using Banner, Self Service and Reporting Services. Registration is required; sessions are posted on myWSU, myTraining. Contact Applications Training if you have questions at 978-5800 or training@wichita.edu.
* Join us for the next Engage ICT: Democracy on Tap from 5:30-8 p.m. today (Tuesday, July 12) at The Lux, 120 E. 1st St. N. Appetizers provided. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4846 for more information.
* Join President Bardo and the executive staff for ice cold treats from 3-4 p.m. Friday, July 15, in the Bluestem Lounge, first floor, Rhatigan Student Center.
* The Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) team has created a simple template for instructors to use in their Blackboard classes. This template will be useful for anyone teaching fully online, hybrid or flipped courses, as well as face-to-face professors who use Blackboard. If you are interested in using the template, read more about it and download the necessary file at http://blogs.wichita.edu/idtgroup/?p=3957. Contact IDT at IDT@wichita.edu with any questions or comments.
* Student Involvement will host the fourth annual Back-to-School Bash from 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, in the RSC courtyard. We need your help. We are looking for other departments to help co-sponsor an inflatable or midway game. Volunteers for the event are also needed. This is a staff-run event, allowing all students to participate. Helping out the night of the bash is a great way to interact with students and welcome them back to campus. If you would like to be a co-sponsor, volunteer or help out in any way for this event, contact Nick Messing at nicholas.messing@wichita.edu.
* Shocker Saturday from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, July 23, is a free event and registration is currently open at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4841 now to Thursday, July 21. This event consists of a presentation about the exciting opportunities at Wichita State, a student panel of current students, a campus tour, optional housing tours and a closing session to answer any questions students might have about life as a WSU Shocker.
