Reminders, deadlines and events

* TRIO Upward Bound Math Science Center will host its Annual Research Symposium and Science Fair today (Friday, July 15). Research presentations will be held from 9:30 a.m.-noon in 208 Hubbard Hall and science fair presentations will be held from 1-3 p.m. in the Hubbard Hall lobby. Come and celebrate science inquiry, experimentation and innovation.

* Leading is not an option but a requirement in our higher education professions. Regardless of a job title or position, often one is asked and expected to take on leadership roles. A cross-cultural leadership training session will be offered from 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 21, in 142 RSC. To register for this training, go to myTraining on myWSU. * Shocker Saturday from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, July 23, is a free event and registration is open at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4841 now to Thursday, July 21. This event consists of a presentation about the exciting opportunities at Wichita State, a student panel of current students, a campus tour, optional housing tours and a closing session to answer any questions students might have about life as a WSU Shocker.

* Banner Purchase Requisitions for Requestors training, Sections 1 and 2, will be held from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, July 19-20. WSU purchasing procedures are reviewed as attendees learn to navigate the Banner forms. Both sections are required for WSU staff responsible for entering requisitions in to Banner. Current requestors are welcome to attend one or both sessions as a refresher. Registration is required. Sessions are posted on myWSU, myTraining. * Student Government Association (SGA) is accepting applications from faculty and staff for the co-advisor position. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4850 for more information.

* The annual Shocker Resource Fair is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, in the Shocker Hall Plaza.
