Reminders, deadlines and events

* An Institutional Review Board (IRB) open lab will be held from 1:30-3 p.m. today (Monday, Aug. 8) in 405 Jardine Hall. The come-and-go lab is for faculty, staff and students who have questions about IRB forms or about their study in general. No registration is required. * Wichita State is hosting a CPR night for parents, guardians or other caregivers who work with children from 5:30-9 p.m. today (Monday, Aug. 8) at WSU's Child Development Center. The cost is $35 per person. To sign up or for more information, call 978-3109.

* WSU's School of Performing Arts has released its schedule for the 2016-17 season. For ticket information, contact the WSU Fine Arts Box Office in Duerksen Fine Arts Center at 978-3233 or http://www.wichita.edu/fineartsboxoffice. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4868 to see the season schedule.

* WSU's Higher Learning Commission accreditation site visit is scheduled for Oct. 10-11, 2016. In preparation for the upcoming visit, the HLC Workgroup has been busy working on several reports and evidence documents to demonstrate compliance with the accreditation criteria. You can view our progress by visiting http://wichita.edu/hlc. Once there you will see several items, including a FAQ link that provides more detail on what is involved in accreditation, why the university is accredited and a link to a list of the site visitors who will visit the university in October. To help the HLC Workgroup get ready for the visit, please make sure your webpages are up to date. The site visit team will be looking at all of our webpages to learn more about the university.

* Promote your events by having them posted on the university calendar. It's as easy as going to http://www.wichita.edu/thisis/calendar/events.asp and clicking on "submit event."

* Human Resources is offering Wage & Hour Training for any and all timekeepers, supervisors and administrative specialists from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, in 266 RSC. This valuable training assists timekeepers using law, policy and even best practices for all timekeeping situations. New overtime rules are incorporated in the class.
