WSU students engage with veteran community, create Shift Space exhibit

A collaboration between the Wichita State School of Social Work and the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center is culminating in a public art exhibition focused on the plight of homeless veterans in America. Earlier this year, two VA social workers approached Wichita State with a proposal to create an art show displaying the work of homeless and formerly homeless veterans. Together with Shaunna Millar, instructor for this summer's Creative Empowerment in Helping Professions class, a plan was developed to engage students with the local veteran community for the project, which ends this week with an art exhibition from 6-10 p.m. today (Friday, July 29) in WSU's Shift Space.
