WSU students sharing passion for local history through social media

Wichita State students are sharing their passion for local history through the world of social media. Barbara Myers and Dalton Sanders both fell in love with local history and have started Facebook pages where others can share their love of the community.

Myers is a student in the local and community history program, who has, in addition to her Facebook become a major figure calling attention to the significance of Highland Cemetery.

Engineering student Dalton Sanders has developed his own Facebook local history page and also works with local trolley tours. More than just hosting a page, it represents a significant expression of local history where the community also participates.

These pages have energized people to be more curious about their city, prompting individuals to share their own images and stories, vignettes that would have gone unnoticed had they not been shared. http://www.kansas.com/entertainment/article90386562.html
