Recruiting students from diverse backgrounds remains a top priority for the Office of Admissions. As of yesterday (Monday, Aug. 15) more than 800 new race and ethnic minority new freshmen and transfer students had enrolled for fall 2016. This reflects an increase of 8.5 percent from the comparative time period for fall 2015. Specifically, enrollment of new Hispanic students has increased nearly 10 percent and new African American students has increased more than 6.5 percent. Overall, underrepresented minorities have increased more than 8 percent. Wichita State is poised to maintain the title of most diverse campus in Kansas.
