Reminders, deadlines and events

* The deadline to apply for Employee or Dependent/Spouse Tuition Assistance has been extended to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25. The tuition assistance program is available for benefits eligible, nonteaching employees who wish to further their education through classes at WSU. It is also available for dependent children and/or spouses of all full-time employees at WSU. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?4911 for the application and for information regarding eligibility requirements, registration information and amount of the award. * Plan to attend the premiere of the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) plan from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, in 262 RSC. The WSU community is invited to learn more about how everyone can be involved in the planned strategies and activities that contribute to improving student experiences and success. A light lunch will be available for participants; no RSVP is required. Contact gina.crabtree@wichita.edu.

* Join Campus Recreation for a night of fun at this year's RECfest from 7-9 p.m. today (Tuesday, Aug. 23) in the Heskett Center. Enjoy snow cones, popcorn, T-shirts, and a big prize giveaway -- Fitbit.

* As you prepare your Blackboard course areas for fall, you will notice some changes. The menu items on the left have been scaled back to make your Blackboard class easier for you and your students. * Information Technology Services is replacing TechHelp ticketing system with TeamDynamix. When you contact ITS Support Services, they record your request and TeamDynamix sends you an email with the ticket number and information. You may respond to the email with questions or additional information. ITS, Media Resources Center and Financial Operations are currently using the TeamDynamix ticketing application and other groups on TechHelp will be migrating later. * New parking signs say that an ePermit is required, although current hangtags are good through August. Purchase virtual parking permits (ePermits) for the 2016-17 academic year. A single ePermit can be used for up to five vehicles, including motorcycles and rental cars, as needed, provided only one of the vehicles is on campus at a time. * New shuttle maps for fall 2016 are available. These information cards are great for handing out to students and guests with parking and shuttle questions. If you want some printed cards for your department's use, email emily.stephens@wichita.edu with your desired quantity and campus box number.
