"Jokes that kill: The use of sardonic humor leading up to the French wars of religion" will be presented by University of Kansas professor Bruce Hayes, Department of French and Italian, from noon-2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, in Ablah Library. A reception will follow the presentation. Hayes will address Brigitte Roussel's two classes in French from 12:30-1:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, in 306 Jardine Hall on Renaissance literature, and from 2-3:15 p.m. to the civilization class on the debate about the role of the university in the Renaissance.
