Reminders, deadlines and events

* Join millions of people around the world as they participate in activities, events, concerts and festivals to celebrate the International Day of Peace and "Partnerships for Peace -- Dignity for All." Stop by from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Sept. 21) on the RSC north patio to participate.

* The Shocker Student Marketing Association will take professional head-shots for students during the Meet the Firms event from noon-2:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Sept. 21) at the Koch Practice Gym. It's $5 cash, and we'll email the photos to you.

* WSU Reads presents Coffee & Conversation from 1-3 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Sept. 22) on the north first floor, RSC. Students are invited to stop by and enjoy a cup of coffee to learn more about the WSU Reads program.

* In celebration of the first day of fall, we are offering free outdoor fitness classes tomorrow (Thursday, Sept. 22). Stop by the RSC east patio at noon for Total Body Tone; 1:30 p.m. for Step; 5:30 p.m. for Zumba; or 6:30 p.m. for Cycle Fit. In case of rain, classes will be held in their regular locations in the Heskett Center.

* Jeb Wallace, professor of Horn, will appear as a soloist with the WSU Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Sept. 22) in Miller Concert Hall. Admission is free for students with a WSU ID.

* The Hypershocks intend to participate in the SpaceX organized Hyperloop Pod Design Competition for the second consecutive year and are recruiting. Attend an informational meeting at 5 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Sept. 22) in 203 RSC. The first general meeting will be at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, in 123 Wallace Hall. * Students who will be applying to graduate school and need to take the GRE test are invited to attend a free GRE Prep Workshop from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 24. The event is free and open to everyone, but pre-registration is required at http://www.registerblast.com/wsu. The location of the workshop will be on the registration receipt. * The International Student Union is calling for chefs and volunteers for Fall InterFest 2016, the international food festival from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, in the Neff Hall court yard.
