Emergency need for blood continues -- Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 27-28

The Red Cross has an emergency need for blood donors to give now to help save patient lives from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 27-28, in the Shocker Hall Multipurpose Room. All blood types are urgently needed.

Currently the Red Cross has less than five-day supply on hand, and hospital patient needs remain steady. It's the blood on the shelves today that helps save lives in emergencies. Blood products are needed for many different reasons. Accident and burn victims, heart surgery patients, organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease may all need blood.

To view available times and to schedule your donation appointment go to http://www.redcrossblood.org and enter the sponsor code Wichita State. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Don't forget to complete your pre-reading and health history questions online the day of the drive at http://www.redcrossblood.org/rapidpass to reduce your wait time by 15 minutes. Please print or email the Rapid Pass barcode presented at the end of the questionnaire and bring it with you to the blood drive along with a valid form of ID.
