Biological Sciences to host talk on Monday, Sept. 26

Chris Helzer, The Nature Conservancy's (TNC) director of science in Nebraska, will present "Building Grassland Resilience through Prairie Restoration and Management," at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, in 218 Hubbard Hall. Helzer's main role for TNC is to evaluate and capture lessons from the conservancy's land management and restoration work, and share those lessons with other land managers. He also works to raise awareness about the value of prairies and prairie conservation through photography, writing and presentations. Helzer writes "The Prairie Ecologist" blog and is the author of the book "The Ecology and Management of Prairies in the Central United States." He also is a frequent contributor of photos and articles to "NEBRASKAland" magazine.
