* Chris Helzer, The Nature Conservancy's (TNC) director of science in Nebraska, will present "Building Grassland Resilience through Prairie Restoration and Management," at 4 p.m. today (Monday, Sept. 26) in 218 Hubbard Hall.

* As a result of the classification and market study conducted by WSU and CBIZ, which was implemented in July, most 'official' titles changed in Banner (our record-keeping system). You will recall that these titles are used to group like positions and are not visible to anyone other than Human Resources. Having this compensation structure is a key element in our ability to deliver compensation services to the university. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5053 for more information.

* The university schedule for the holiday closedown memo has been corrected. It incorrectly stated that "Staff may use accumulated vacation leave or their *2017 discretionary day during this closedown period or will be given appropriate work assignments by their supervisor." It now correctly states, "Staff may use accumulated vacation leave or their *2016 discretionary day during this closedown period or will be given appropriate work assignments by their supervisor." View the corrected memo at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5011 Questions should be directed to timekeeping@wichita.edu.

* Proposals for the National Science Foundation (NSF) Major Research Instrumentation solicitation are due to WSU's Office of Research on Friday, Sept. 30. This is a limited submission opportunity; WSU is only able to submit three proposals. There will need to be an internal competition to determine which proposals will be submitted to the NSF. All interested parties should respond to proposals@wichita.edu with their intent to apply as soon as possible. For more information, go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5002
