Media are invited to attend the Ad Astra Conference at Wichita State, a two-day event bringing together more than 200 first-generation students from universities across Kansas.

The conference, today (Friday, Sept. 23) and Saturday, Sept. 24, will include networking, social activities and workshops, with the goal to help prepare students for graduation and to join the workforce.

Events will be held at various times and locations. Some activities of interest include:

- A picnic at 5:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, in front of the Rhatigan Student Center.
- A social at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at Fairmount Towers CafÃƒÂ©.
- Keynote address with Tim Hodges, director of research at Gallup, 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, in the CAC Theater.
