Wichita State hosted two, two-day civil rights investigator trainings from Sept. 19-21, facilitated by W. Scott Lewis, JD, of the National Center for Higher Education Risk Management (NCHERM) and the Association for Title IX Administrators (ATIXA). These trainings focused on sex and gender-based violence and harassment under Title IX, but are also applicable to all protected class discrimination complaints. More than 130 attendees from higher education institutions and other organizations from California to North Carolina and Idaho to Texas attended the training. As a direct benefit of hosting, WSU was able to train 22 employees representing Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Human Resources, EEO and Title IX, General Counsel and University Police. We also extended an invitation for training to our colleagues at WATC.
