* The President's Diversity Council at WSU has planned the first diversity showcase, DiverseCity, from today (Monday, Oct. 3) to Friday, Oct. 7. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?5077 and check out this week's calendar of events.

* WSU cordially invites you to a Paralympic Celebration and Tree Dedication honoring 2016 Paralympic medalists Nick Taylor and Deja Young, along with Paralympic athlete Liz Willis. The Olympic oak for boxing medalist Nico Hernandez will also be dedicated. The celebration starts at 5 p.m. today (Monday, Oct. 3) in the Koch Arena atrium followed by a 5:30 p.m. tree dedication.

* Student Perception of Teaching Effectiveness (SPTE) request forms are due to the Social Science Research Lab by today (Monday, Oct. 3).

* The Office of Human Resources is currently seeking applications for the position of Human Resource Generalist. This position currently specializes in working with employee records. Duties will include but are not limited to processing timekeeping records and employee on-boarding. The position will shift to an analytical, customer-service based role as the organization and technology evolve. * Standard Life Insurance is offering another optional group life insurance (OGLI) open enrollment period now through Saturday, Oct. 31. Changes in 2017 include higher plan maximums and guaranteed coverage. Limited guaranteed coverage is still available to qualified employees and new dependents. * WSU will host a free screening of alumnus Dean Hargrove's acclaimed 2015 documentary, "Tap World," at 7 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct. 4) in the CAC Theater. Hargrove is a 1996 WSU President's Medal recipient and producer of hundreds of television programs around the world.
