Reminders, deadlines, events and Shocker Blast

* All untenured faculty are invited to join the next Pre-Tenure Club meeting at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 5) in 300 Clinton Hall. We will discuss the tenure process and early career strategies.

* The WSU Foundation invites you to attend the public unveiling of Shock the World: The Campaign for Wichita State University from 11 a.m.-noon today (Wednesday, Oct. 5) in the commons area of Wilner Auditorium. Comments will begin at 11:20 a.m. The WSU Foundation offices and the offices of the WSU Alumni Association, both housed in Woodman Alumni Center, will be closed from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

* Join the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Wichita Police Department (WPD) and hear the experiences of police officers of color in the Brown Bag Diversity Discussion "Black, Brown & Blue, a Discussion with Police Officers of Color," from noon-1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 5) in 266 RSC.

* Join the Cultural Ambassador Program on an adventurous tour to the "Giant of Africa: Nigeria" from noon-1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 5) in 261 RSC. Esther Alao's presentation highlights several facets of Nigeria that every curious mind must know, including history, culture and tourism, as well as challenges the country faces in the future.

* The Office or Research will hold a Research Compliance Workshop at 2:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 5) in 409E Jardine Hall. Register through the myTraining portal in myWSU. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/researchworkshops for more information.

* Join us for a day lecture with Shane L. Windmeyer, a best-selling author, LGBTQ campus pioneer and civil rights champion from 1-2:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, in Marcus Welcome Center. The day lecture is only for WSU faculty, staff and GTA's.
